Bird LA Day 2017

CATEGORY: Current Events · In the News |
On Mar 12, 2017

Last year, approximately 30 individuals showed up for the Ranger Anthony Bevilacqua-led hike. In 2017 the group will meet up just behind Trails Cafe in Fern Dell at 8AM, will cross the roadway and head up toward the Observatory.

The leader this year will be Don White, and along the route we’ll stop and observe various bird and flora species. We’re hoping for great weather and a good turnout of people interested in various bird species found in Griffith Park.

It’s a fun, easy event for kids of all ages! Hope you can join us and don’t forget to bring water.

Today’s hike leader:
Don White became interested in birding after taking an ornithology class in college. He expanded his interest in birds while trekking through the United States, Canada and other parts of the globe.

Nowadays, he spends time hiking, camping, backpacking and mountain-climbing, all to broaden his knowledge of the natural history of an area — the flora and fauna, and in particular, herbs. And also birds!
