Directions & Parking
Getting To and Around Griffith Park
Griffith Park is just west of the Golden State Freeway (I-5), between Los Feliz Boulevard on the south and the Ventura Freeway (SR 134) on the north.
DASH Shuttle
On weekends, holidays and during the summer months, Griffith Park is extremely congested with heavy traffic and limited parking opportunities, even on nearby residential streets
Avoid congestion and parking fees; use DASH, the official transit provider into Griffith Park. The bus connects at the Sunset/Vermont Metro station and makes stops through Los Feliz village, The Greek Theatre, Mt Hollywood hiking trail and the front lawn of the Griffith Observatory.
Click for DASH Observatory/Los Feliz info with Map on LADOT website >
The DASH runs every day — 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. (even on Mondays when the Observatory building is closed.)
Shuttles run every 15: 20 minutes. Last shuttle to depart from The Griffith Observatory is at 10pm.The Metro Red Line at Sunset/Vermont is a DASH shuttle stop. Click here for more information about using Metro to get to Griffith Park.

Drive and Park
Freeway off-ramps leading to Griffith Park from I-5 are Los Feliz Boulevard, Griffith Park (direct entry) and Zoo Drive.
Approaching the park on SR 134 eastbound, take either Forest Lawn Drive or Victory Boulevard off-ramps.
From SR 134 westbound, take Zoo Drive or Forest Lawn Drive. After leaving freeways, follow signs.
The area surrounding the Griffith Observatory is paid parking. Parking is enforced every day of the year, Monday-Fridays noon: 10 p.m. and Saturday and Sundays 10 a.m.: 10 p.m.. Parking fees increase over peak season/holidays.
If there is no show at The Greek Theatre you may park for free in that parking lot and ride the DASH Observatory up the hill for .50. You will be dropped right at the front entrance of the building.
