Hooray – Back to the Anza Native Garden

March 14 @ 8:30 am - 11:00 am

For many who volunteered to create this space, the Anza Native Garden is very special. This garden is smack-dab next to the freeway, but provides an opportunity to educate folks about wealth of native plants that, at one time flourished in Griffith Park.

We’ll be pulling weeds, invasive grasses and other invasive plants, and will then spread mulch which helps slow the return of weeds and adds nutrients to the soil, reduces evaporation during the warmer months of summer.

We strongly recommend that you wear closed-toed shoes, long pants, a hat, and sunscreen. We’ll supply hand tools, trash bags for weeds, work gloves, water, and cups.  If you have your own work gloves and a water container, we suggest you bring them.
And, If you’ve not already completed and submitted one of our Volunteer Agreement forms, you’ll need to do so before you’re allowed to work in the Park per LA Rec and Parks. Please complete the fillable form and email it back to rossarnold1213@gmail.com, or bring the completed form to your first project. If you’ve completed this form already, you will only need to sign in when you arrive at the worksite.
We look forward to seeing you at the event!
