As folks know… Martin Luther King Day is a day set aside to honor and celebrate the life and works of this civil rights icon.
FoGP volunteers will spend the morning raking leaves and gathering branches along trails, courtesy of the last big windstorms.
We’ll meet across the street from Trails Café (LOOK FOR OUR SIGNAGE)
If you’re interested in joining in, we request several things… we´ll provide tools and gloves, but if you have a favorite well-worn pair, please bring them. We urge you to always wear clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting REALLY DIRTY and don a hat and sunscreen as this IS California. Ross will provide water and paper cups and folks are always welcome to bring their water bottle and fill up.
If you’ve volunteered with us in the past, you know Rec and Parks requires volunteer agreements, so if you haven’t filled one out yet, please do so and send along to Ross. We´ll also have a few agreements available at the event (just in case).
While there is some parking along the street, if you cannot find parking, drive to Parking Lot #9 (to the north).
Hope to see you at this event… If you can’t make it, please make plans for future events.
LOOK FOR OUR UPCOMING EVENT: Sat., Feb. 8 in Fern Dell (same bat-time…)
