FoGP Volunteers are again heading back to Fern Canyon

Fern Canyon is one of our very special volunteer projects because this was one of the areas decimated by the 2007 fire that swept through Griffith Park. FoGP continues to help the healing process by occasionally going in and eliminating invasive plants (castor bean comes to mind) to help natives gain ground. If you’ve never hiked or visited this spot, now’s your opportunity to discover this lush canyon.
As usual, we´ll provide tools and gloves, but if you have a favorite pair you love, please feel free to bring them. We urge you to always wear clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting REALLY DIRTY!
If you’ve volunteered with us in the past, you know Rec and Parks requires volunteer agreements, so if you haven’t filled one out, please do so and send along to Ross. We´ll also have a few agreements available at the event just in case.
