July 14th 2016 Lecture with Wildlife Biologist/Bat Enthusiast Miguel Ordeñana

CATEGORY: Save the Date |
On Jun 15, 2016

DSC05055-2Miguel Ordeñana, wildlife biologist with the Los Angeles County Natural History Museum will join us on July 14, 2016 to discuss the various bat species that inhabit Southern California. Because of their importance in controlling insects (especially mosquitoes) and pollinating rare plants, it’s crucial these flying mammals are protected going toward the future.

In addition to his work with the Los Angeles County Natural History Museum, Miguel Ordeñana conducts urban mammal research projects (bats and carnivores) and citizen science outreach at the museum. He credits growing up in the shadow of Griffith Park as the impetus for developing an interest in wildlife preservation issues.

Is there any possibility of starting the lectures just 15 minutes later, 7 pm? I really wanted to go to the bat lecture tonight but could not make it home from work, preparing and eating dinner, and traffic in time to get to the library. Thanks for considerig this time change.

Freda… unfortunately this lecture is held at the Los Feliz Library and we’re subject to library hours (the library closes at 8 pm and all patrons/participants are required to exit the building at that time).
