DESCRIPTION:This Earth Day\, FoGP is heading back to the Bird Sanctuary for more… \nThe Bird Sanctuary has a long history as one of the premiere spots to birdwatch in the Park. A brief history of this area can be viewed at A Bird-Friendly Landscape\, A Human Refuge \nVolunteers are always asked to dress comfortably… old clothes and comfy\, closed-toe shoes. While this area is somewhat shady\, we always ask folks to bring a hat and wear sunscreen. If you have gloves\, please bring them\, although we do provide gloves. We’ll provide tools and water (if you bring a bottle\, you can always refill). \nTo work in the park per LA Rec and Parks (RAP)\, you need to complete and submit this Volunteer Agreement Form. Fill out the form\, scan it\, and email it back to rossarnold1213@gmail.com\, or bring the completed form to this project. \nAnd if you’ve already completed a form\, just sign in when you arrive at the worksite! \nWe do not take reservations for this event… JUST SHOW UP! \n

DESCRIPTION:It’s been far too long since the last Hike with Jorge… so we’re very excited that Jorge is available for this hike. He’ll be hiking/talking about the Condor Canyon Fire that destroyed a fair number of acres\, and how this area has regenerated over the course of time. \nWe know of course time heals all and this transformation proves the adage. \nNOTE: If you’ve hiked with Jorge in the past\, you know he stops along the route to discuss various plants\, and the occasional birds and animals\, so kids are encouraged to join… \nFolks are encouraged to ask questions and look deep into the landscape and appreciate the beauty of Griffith Park with fellow nature-lovers. \nAnd of course\, we limit the number so get your rsvp in early. WHILE WE ENCOURAGE ONE OR TWO RSVPS per person\, PLEASE REMEMBER THERE ARE OTHERS WHO WOULD ALSO LIKE TO ATTEND SO LIMIT YOUR RSVPS.
