SUMMARY:Natural History Museum's Community Science – Get SNERCHING
DESCRIPTION:The folks at the Natural History Museum want you to join its annual community science slugfest\, SNERCH to scour and snap photos of snails and slugs from now through March 31. \nFormerly known as Snail Blitz\, SNERCH is the U.S.’s longest-running and largest community science project focused on snails and slugs. Past contributions have uncovered non-native and endangered species. SNERCH is part of the larger SLIME (Snails and Slugs Living in Metropolitan Environments) project on iNaturalist. nhm.org/snail-search for more information. \nCurrently this study – Snails and Slugs Living in Metropolitan Environments (SLIME) is taking place in the LA Area. The ask is easy – while snails and slugs are fairly easy to spot\, they’re also vulnerable to a variety of issues due to their inability to quickly escape from potential harm (who knew\, right) \nWhether they’re in your backyard\, at the local park\, or along your favorite hike\, every snail or slug photographed will help scientists. \nYou can help move this research forward. Click the link above – which takes you directly to NHM’s site. Join the SNERCH fun!

While the second half is an all-inclusive demonstration — participants that complete the advance free training/quiz can join in the hands-on experience.
